BIO
Born in Savona the 7th of July 1967 he started to play drums in 1980.
Until the 90’s he played with bands and orchestras in the clubs.
In 1990 he moved to Milan and started to study at the CPM school while he was playing with several Orchestras such as “don miko e i caravan” and “i bravo” who with he played till 1993. From 1993 to 1996 he played with the band “Scomunica” (he is a founder of this one) in the most important clubs in north Italy.
In 1995 they realized the cd “Scomunica”. In the same year he started to collaborate with the guitarist Ricky Portera who brought him to play with Paola Turci in 1996 and with Lucio Dalla in 2000.
In 1997 he started a steady collaboration with the Italian rock band most famous in the world : Premiata Forneria Marconi.
In 2000 he met Dario Mollo and took part to his works “voodoo hill” with the ex Deep Purple, Glenn Hughes and “the cage II” with the ex Black Sabbath’s front man Tony Martin.
From 1996 he started to teach at the CPM school, firstly as assistant and after that having his own rock drums course.
From 1997 he started to perform his clinics for Tama drums and Zildjian cymbals.
In 1999 he formed the band “Four Tiles” with the guitarist Cesareo (Elio e le storie tese band) , the German bass player Guido Block and the guitarist Stefano Xotta . He played with this band in the most important clubs with a classic rock repertoire.
In 2004 he has set up, together with Dario Mollo, the Elektric Zoo who, together with Graham Bonnet (Rainbow / Alcatrazz ) at voice, have been on their first European tour across Austria, Spain and UK in April and May .
During the same year he has recorded Piero Pelù’s cd called’ “soggetti smarriti” and he has taken part to the new P.F.M.’s tour.
Collaboration in live and studio with Dolcenera,Pfm e Lucio Dalla since 2005.
He’s also involved in studio session with many artists such as Enzo Jannacci, Nek, Roberto Vecchioni, XFactor Italian Version to name a few.
Roberto also takes time out to teach in one of Italy’s premier drum schools C.P.M, and regularly contributes to Italian Drummers magazine “Drum Club.”
He’s also a busy clinician, with his personal programmes “Rock Drumming” and “The Working Drummer” and together with one of the most important italian jazz drummer, Stefano Bagnoli, with the drum duo called “Il Di’avolo & L’Acqua Santa” (The Devil & The Holy Water)
In addition to this he’s very active in Rock Metal scene collaborating with Dario Mollo, VooDoo Hill (Glenn Hughes), The Cage (Tony Martin), Electrik Zoo (Graham Bonnet) and his own new project, NoiZe Machine.
During 2008 and 2009, Roberto was involved in Xfactor – Italian Edition both recording tracks for the show and finalist’s album, Aram Quartet, Giusy Ferreri, XFactor Compilation. He’s also been recording the first album of his new power band NoiZe Machine and recording and touring with amazing Italian singer and pianist, Dolcenera.
In 2010 his collaboration with Dolcenera, Paolo Jannacci and Zelig Orchesttra and Xfactor Italian Edition, Il Diavolo & L’Acqua Santa, NoiZe Machine e Four Tiles goes on.
He also wins the readers’ poll as “Best Drummer of 2010” of InSound Magazine.

STUDIES
He has studied drums with Mauro Gherardi ; Enrico Lucchini; Candelo Cabezas and Walter Calloni who with he came to the diploma, in 1993, at the CPM – music institute of Milan. He has studied theory and harmony with the masters Roberto Cipelli and Alessandro Bianchi and percussions with Candelo Cabezas and Giorgio Palombino
